The Apple TV app is now also accessible on devices running the Android TV operating system. Apple announced this in a tweet. The app makes it possible to watch the streaming service Apple TV+ on Android TV devices.

The Apple TV app is now accessible on televisions and streaming sticks and boxes that run Android TV OS, Apple writes in a tweet, and the company confirms it to 9to5Google. The app runs on any Android TV device running 8.0 Oreo or higher that is not directly managed by a TV provider.

The Apple TV app was already available for Chromecast and Google TV in February. At that time it was known that the app would also come to Android TV, but when that would happen was not yet known. Yesterday it was announced that Apple TV also works on Nvidia Shield. The app already worked on Samsung televisions and Sony Bravia TVs, among others.
