Apple will release macOS High Sierra on September 25. The manufacturer has announced this. The American company has been releasing test versions of the new version of its operating system for desktops and laptops since June.

On release day, High Sierra will appear in the Mac App Store for download, after which users can download and install it. Apple lists the date on the page it dedicated to the update. Apple announced macOS High Sierra, version 10.13 of the OS for Mac systems, in early June.

MacOS 10.13 High Sierra contains a different file system compared to predecessors: the OS makes the switch from hfs+ to apfs, or Apple File System. This offers advantages in terms of partitioning, encryption and storage space, among other things. iOS already uses apfs from version 10.3.

High Sierra brings support for external video cards, which can be connected via thunderbolt 3. This is made possible by the presence of the Metal 2 graphics platform in macOS 10.13, which also provides better handling of virtual reality applications and machine learning systems. In addition, the software has support for h265/hevc, for efficient playback of 4k video.

There are also improvements to Photos, Mail and Safari. For example, the browser of the OS will have the option of using a self-learning system to counteract tracking.
