Apple iOS 11.2.5 fixes link that can crash Messages app

Apple has released iOS 11.2.5. The update includes a fix for the issue where the Messages app could crash when a certain link was displayed. Furthermore, the update adds HomePod support.

Last week, a link appeared that can cause the Messages app to crash on iOS and macOS. The phenomenon was named ChaiOS bug. Apple promised a solution and has now delivered it with iOS 11.2.5.

The changelog that Apple has put online shows that the new update also fixes a number of other problems and adds support for the HomePod. HomePod support means users can transfer their Apple ID and settings from Apple Music, Siri and Wi-Fi to the smart speaker, which will be released in February in the US and UK.
