Apple blocks Business Manager for Firefox users

Apple blocks use of the Apple Business Manager website through Mozilla Firefox for unknown reasons. If the website is visited via the relevant browser, the user will see an error message: ‘Your browser is not supported’.

The Apple Business Manager is still accessible through other prominent browsers, including Apple’s Safari, Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, according to the error message. These are browsers based on Webkit or Chromium. Other browsers such as Opera and Brave, both based on Chromium, also have access to Apple Business.

Apple hasn’t yet explained how to exclude Firefox; the lack of support in the browser in question seems to have been going on for a long time. There is according to Ghacks a workaround is possible. The medium discovered the Firefox limitation and then managed to change the identification of Firefox as such by modifying the user agent in the about:config settings. This requires several steps and may change settings. Therefore, it is recommended to use any browser extension to customize the user agent.

Apple Business Manager is a platform that allows administrators to manage devices at scale. The service, as the name suggests, is intended for companies. The platform can be used from practically all popular browsers, except Firefox. Of course it is quite easy to start a different browser, but for a few the login block could cause inconvenience.
