AMD CEO of GPU division Scott Herkelman announces departure from company

AMD CEO Scott Herkelman has announced his departure from the company. Herkelman was vice president of the graphics business unit for more than five years and then senior vice president of the same division for another two years.

Herkelman has announced his departure in a tweet and says he will permanently leave AMD from the end of this year. On the official one AMD website it already states that another employee has taken his position.

AMD’s GPU division has been co-managed by Herkelman for the past seven years. He was therefore partly responsible for the release of several Radeon GPUs, including most recently the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT. On the other hand, he not only worked behind the scenes on AMD video cards, because he also took the presentation of different GPUs in themselves.
