Fallout is a series of post-apocalyptic rpg games set in a future that resembles the future of the 1950s. Nuclear war has completely destroyed the United States and forced people to survive in a world of radioactive radiation and mutated, hostile creatures. The game is known for the alternation between dark humor and serious tones. The latest game in the series is mmorpg Fallout 76.

Kilter Films is best known for the Westworld series, a dystopian, western-style science fiction series. The studio was founded by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Nolan is known as co-writer of the Batman films The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. He also worked on the science fiction film Interstellar. Bethesda’s Todd Howard says he’s spent ten years looking at how Fallout could be released as a TV series and that Kilter Films are the right people to do it.
