Developer Cold Iron has announced Aliens: Fireteam. It is a cooperative survival shooter with a third-person perspective, which will be released in the summer for PC and Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Set 23 years after the events of the Alien movie trilogy, the new game Aliens: Fireteam pits players against the Xenomorph aboard the spaceship USS Endeavor. The game will feature twenty different enemies, including eleven different Xenomorphs. That’s the name of the aliens from the sci-fi horror movies.

Players can choose from five classes: Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Doc and Recon. Each class has its own abilities and perks. There is a choice of more than thirty weapons and more than seventy mods and extensions for those weapons.

In a trailer, Cold Iron shows gameplay footage, but the game is still in an alpha phase. In the summer of this year, the game should be released on Steam and for the Xbox Series X and S, and the PlayStation 5. There will also be versions for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Cold Iron is a studio that was founded in 2015 and consists of developers who have worked on City of Heroes, Star Trek Online, Neverwinter and BioShock Infinite, among others. The studio was acquired by Daybreak Games last year. It was already known that Cold Iron was working on a game in the Alien franchise. It is the first time that more details have come out about this.
