Adobe announces price increase for most Creative Cloud apps

Adobe will increase the prices of most applications that fall under Creative Cloud. The company says that integrating generative AI into many apps will add additional costs. The price increases will take effect from November 1 in the Benelux.

In a blog post Adobe makes it clear which applications will become more expensive from November 1. This includes Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, InDesign and Illustrator. The price increase applies to all individual and business subscriptions. The Creative Cloud for Individuals – All Apps collection package will also become more expensive. The company emphasizes that all these subscriptions will now include Generative Credits. These are tokens that customers can ‘pay’ to generate images in Photoshop, Illustrator, Express and Firefly using the Firefly AI.

Adobe makes some exceptions when it comes to price changes. For example, subscriptions for students, teachers and educational institutions are excluded from the price increase. Apps that fall outside the Creative Cloud umbrella, including Acrobat, Express Premium, Firefly Premium and the Photography package, will also not become more expensive. The prices for subscriptions to mobile versions of the software will also not change.

The company has not yet announced exact prices for the Benelux, but has already announced it for the United States. These are prices excluding VAT and are estimated to be approximately 21 percent higher in euros including tax.
