Activision Blizzard has, as anticipated for some time, completed its acquisition of King. This company is best known for the popular game Candy Crush Saga. Both companies announced the acquisition last year.

The acquisition involves an amount of USD 5.9 billion, which translates into approximately EUR 5.4 billion. The acquisition will give Activision Blizzard access to a user base of 310 million people. According to the company, it now has a user base of half a billion gamers across all its games. This would make Activision Blizzard the largest game network in the world. Incidentally, King previously had a significantly larger user base, but there has been a decline in players for some time.

Activision Blizzard announced last November that it would acquire King. The company is mainly interested in the Candy Crush games, which are very popular worldwide. Now that the acquisition has been completed, the employees responsible for development will start working for Activision Blizzard, although it is not clear whether new games are on the way.
