Acers Swift 7 laptop with 14 “screen and thin screen bezels costs 1800 euros

Acer has announced the latest edition of the Swift 7 ultrabook at CES. This new 14-inch laptop is characterized by relatively thin screen bezels of 2.57 mm, which according to Acer results in a relative screen size of 92 percent.

According to Acer, the new Swift 7 laptop is slightly less thick than a cm: 9.95 mm. The device weighs 890 grams, is 317.9 mm wide and 191.5 mm deep. The ultrabook has a touchscreen and gets Intel’s i7-8500Y as a CPU, which has a clock speed of 1.5GHz and a boost of 4.2GHz. Acer adds a maximum of 16GB lpddr3 memory. For storage, a PCI-e SSD of up to 512GB can be placed in the laptop.

The 14″ screen has an IPS panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, a brightness of 300cd/m² and support for 100 percent of the sRGB color space. The screen features Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for protection and the laptop is completely Made of metal, it uses magnesium alloys, which Acer says provides more strength than standard aluminum alloys and is 20 to 35 percent lighter, which the manufacturer says has helped keep the overall weight of the laptop down.

The keys have a travel of 1.1mm and are backlit. According to the manufacturer, the Swift 7 laptop lasts ten hours on a battery charge. The laptop also has two USB-C connections with Thunderbolt 3, which also enable a connection via USB 3.1 and DisplayPort 1.2. Wi-Fi 5, or 802.11ac, is supported including 2×2-mu-mimo, as well as Bluetooth 5.0. The Swift 7 will be released in Europe in April for prices starting at 1799 euros.
