Acer Swift 3 with AMD Ryzen Mobile processor will be released in the Benelux at the beginning of January

The first model of the Acer Swift 3 with AMD Ryzen Mobile processors has appeared at a webshop in the Benelux. The 15.6 “model with the AMD chip costs 849 euros and will be released in the second week of January. The laptops from HP and Lenovo with Ryzen Mobile chips are also on the way.

The Acer Swift 3 with Ryzen 5 2500U has model number SF315-41G-R0D5 and is not yet on the list of Swift 3 models from Acer itself, but it is already available at a webshop. The laptop has a 15.6″ screen with IPS panel and 1080p resolution, 8GB of ram and PCI-e SSD of 256GB. The laptop has an AMD Radeon RX 540 video card in addition to the Vega 8-igp. is 849 euros and the model will be available in the second week of 2018. A variant with Ryzen 7 2700U has also appeared at webshops in Germany, for 999 euros. It is not known whether this model will also come to the Benelux.

The Acer Swift 3 is one of three laptops announced with AMD Ryzen Mobile. The HP Envy X360 15-bq100nd with Ryzen 5 2500U and ‘Vega M’ is now in the range of web shops, with an unknown release date but with a price of 999 euros. Vega M probably refers to the Vega 8-igp. This 2-in-1 also has a full HD screen with a diagonal of 15.6 “, but the screen is touch-sensitive and foldable. There is also 8GB of ram and a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD for storage.

Finally, the Ideapad 720s-13ARR 81BR0027MH with Ryzen 5 is also on the way, with an unknown release date. This 13.3 “laptop with full HD IPS screen will cost 899 euros and has 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

AMD announced Ryzen Mobile in late October. Initially, there are two Zen architecture-based Ryzen chips for laptops: the Ryzen 5 2500U and the Ryzen 2700U. It is unknown whether and if so when manufacturers other than Acer, HP and Lenovo will also come with laptops with Ryzen chips.
