Download PS3 Media Server 1.02.1

Via the Xrossmediabar on the Playstation 3 you can, among other things, play content that is upnp-av media server offered. PS3 Media Server is written in Java and can stream audio and video to the PlayStation 3 via upnp-av. Among other things, it can transcode real-time audio and video to formats that the PS3 understands and pass a photo feed from, for example, Picasaweb. The developer released version 1.02.1 a few days ago and provided the following list of changes since the previous entry in the Meuktracker:

Version 1.02.1

New features:

• OSX build now uses Java 1.5 instead of 1.6 so it should be able to run on more macs

Fixes:

• Major Bug in server start due to a faulty MAC address retrieval
• PMS do not start after activating the archive browsing option

• m4a and aac are now transcoded by default (iTunes Apple Lossless compatibility)
