Xiaomi seems to have accidentally put Miui 12 Settings app online

It seems that smartphone maker Xiaomi accidentally put the Settings app of the as yet unannounced Miui 12 online. The interface of Xiaomi’s Android release has several changes.

The apk file is now offline again, but XDA-Developers has put comparative screenshots online. This shows, among other things, that Xiaomi no longer shows the refresh rate options as a text pop-up at the bottom of the screen. The textual pop-ups at the bottom have been part of the interface of Miui, the Android release that Xiaomi puts on its smartphones, for years.

The screenshots come from a beta that Xiaomi had distributed to Chinese users. The betas are normal, but the interface of this Settings app was more than usual from the regular version of the app. Xiaomi has not confirmed that it is an app from Miui 12. The manufacturer usually announces the new version of its Android release in the summer.
