Xiaomi has permanently fixed the problems with its Mi Home smart camera that allowed users to see images of others on their Google Nest Hub. Previously, Google had disabled integration with the Assistant as a precaution.

The Chinese manufacturer has indicated in a statement to XDA Developers that the problems with the Google Nest Hub have been solved. A permanent fix has been found for the bug, with images of seemingly random people showing up on the Nest Hub when the user tried to turn on the Mi Home’s video stream.

The ability to use Xiaomi’s smart camera with Google Assistant had already been re-enabled before, but a permanent solution had not yet been found. So now it is, although the manufacturer does not want to indicate exactly what has been changed. Previously, Xiaomi indicated that the problem was in the caching of video images.

At the beginning of this month, the vulnerability in the Mi Home was revealed, after which Google made it impossible to use the camera with Assistant until a solution was found. In a statement, Xiaomi said it only affected a small number of users.
