Worms and Overcooked publisher Team17 confirms reorganization and dismisses CEO

Team17 confirms that a reorganization is underway that may lead to the loss of ‘dozens of jobs’. The publisher of Worms also confirms the departure of CEO Michael Pattison. According to Team17, Astragon and Storytoys are not included in the restructuring.

Team17 said in a statement VG247 that the British publisher has said a friendly farewell to Team17 Digital CEO Michael Pattison. The publisher also says it has entered a ‘period of consultation’. Team17 emphasizes that ‘Astragon and StoryToys remain unaffected by the restructuring plans’.

Brought earlier today Eurogamer the news of the reorganization plans and the resignation of the CEO has already gone out. At that time the plans had not yet been confirmed by the publisher itself. According to the anonymous source, the restructuring consultation will be completed in November this year and there will be ‘dozens of layoffs’. The role of CEO will reportedly be filled by Ann Hurley.

Team17 is a British game publisher and developer. The company is mainly known for the Worms franchise and Overcooked, but also has games such as Blasphemous, Moving Out and Hell Let Loose in its portfolio. Earlier this year, Team17 also held a round of layoffs. Epic Games, Ascendant Studios, Bioware and Striking Distance Studios also recently announced layoffs.
