Blizzard is delaying World of Warcraft: Shadowlands until later this year. The expansion would be released on October 27. A new date has not yet been announced. According to the developer, more time is needed for endgame improvements .

According to Blizzard, the decision to postpone was made based on feedback from players. They would have made it clear that more time is needed to polish Shadowlands and to take another good look at the balance. The necessary adjustments mainly concern the endgame.

Shadowlands is one of the most complicated World of Warcraft expansions to date, according to Blizzard, and ‘the challenge’ of fine-tuning the endgame has been increased as the team had to work from home due to the corona crisis.

Blizzard will release a pre-patch for Shadowlands starting October 13. This lays the groundwork for the upcoming expansion, which, among other things, changes the way characters level up.
