The Windows version of the Naval Strike expansion for Battlefield 4 has been released after a week’s delay. The DLC was originally delayed to early April, but the Windows version is already available for Battlefield 4 Premium members.

Recently, Digital Illusions CE announced that technical issues had been discovered with the Xbox One and Windows versions of Naval Strike, forcing the Swedish studio to delay the release of the DLC for those two platforms. “Quality is the number one priority,” the developer said. Although that message stated that the two versions of the DLC would not be released until early April, DICE is apparently already done with the necessary changes. The Xbox One version was available from Thursday, March 27. The version for Windows version is now also available, it is written on the Battlefield 4 blog.

Battlefield 4: Naval Strike includes four new maps and a new game mode called Carrier Assault. This game mode is inspired by the Titan game mode from Battlefield 2142. Players fight over a number of islands on which control points can be found. At each control point is a missile installation that is automatically deployed to fire at the enemy team’s aircraft carrier. When enough damage is done to an aircraft carrier, players can invade the ship to further destroy it from within. Simply letting the rockets do the work is also an option. Battlefield 4: Naval Strike is available immediately to Premium members on Xbox 360 and One, PlayStation 3 and 4, and Windows. For people who don’t have a Premium subscription, you have to wait until April 8. However, due to the delay, the Xbox One and Windows versions will have to wait until April 10 and 14, respectively.
