WhatsApp will soon no longer require group chats with few participants to have their own names. WhatsApp will generate a name using the names of contacts.

WhatsApp group name based on contacts

For groups of six participants or less, WhatsApp can use the names as group names. It should make using groups easier, reports Meta director Mark Zuckerberg. The group name looks different for each user because it is based on how people are listed in the contact list. The change will take effect in a few weeks and will work equally on all platforms. It remains possible to give group chats their own name that is the same for all users.
