WhatsApp introduces short video message feature
WhatsApp has expanded its voice messaging feature with the ability to send short video messages to others. The videos can be up to one minute long and are sent with end-to-end encryption.
Users can create the short video messages with the button that now allows them to record voice messages. With a single press of that button, next to the text input field, users can switch between voice messages and short videos. Recording a short video works the same as recording a voice message: users must press and hold the button to record, or can swipe up to record hands-free.
The short videos appear as large bubbles in the conversation, which users can open with a click. The video plays without sound; with another click the audio starts. Some users can use the feature now, in the coming weeks, all WhatsApp users get the position. Mark Zuckerberg shows on Facebook how the function works in practice.
