In the Geekbench database, benchmark results of a Lenovo system with Snapdragon 845-soc have appeared. The processor is clocked higher than on smartphones and performs on Windows up to 50 percent better than a Snapdragon 835.

The benchmark results are in the Geekbench database on two systems, one called Qualcomm CLS and one called Lenovo Invalid. The systems have 4GB of ram and a motherboard with the name Europa. That it concerns systems with the Snapdragon 845 octacore is apparent from the CPU ID and the clock speed, Winfuture suggests.

That clock speed is 2.96GHz, which is higher than the maximum of 2.8GHz in smartphones with the Snapdragon 845. It is also higher than the 2.21GHz and 2.6GHz of the Snapdragon 835 where the HP Envy x2 and Asus NovaGo respectively be equipped with.

In the single-core test, the Lenovo system with Snapdragon 845 performs about 50 percent better than an Asus NovaGo with Snapdragon 835. In the multicore benchmarks, that is about 25 percent higher. It is no secret that laptops with Snapdragon 845 appear: Microsoft and Qualcomm have already announced this themselves. It is unknown when the release will come. Manufacturers may present the first models during the Computex fair, which takes place in Taiwan at the beginning of June.

Microsoft and Qualcomm introduced the first Always Connected PCs with Snapdragon socs and lte modems last year. These are laptops with a long battery life that are continuously connected to the internet thanks to, among other things, 4G integration. The disadvantages are the relatively low performance of the Snapdragon compared to Intel and AMD chips and the high price of at least 599 dollars.
