Volkswagen wants to sell electric sedan in 2023 with a range of 620 km

Volkswagen has the ID. AERO presented, an electric sedan based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform. This sedan will have an expected maximum WLTP range of 620km with a 77kWh battery. The AERO is the flagship of the ID cars, says Volkswagen.

The car manufacturer wants the ID. AERO will be built in Emden, Germany, from next year. The company also shares concept images of the ID. AERO. This concept is almost five meters long and has a Cw value of 0.23.

Like other ID models, the AERO is based on the modular electric drive matrix platform, or MEB. As a result, the car will in any case have a battery with a net capacity of 77 kWh, which would allow a range of 620 km according to the WLTP standard. This is a predicted range, emphasizes Volkswagen. The Volkswagen ID.3 can drive a maximum of 553 kilometers with the same battery.

The ID. AERO is sold first in China; sales there should start in the second half of next year. Other markets will follow, including Europe and America.
