Developer Supermassive Games announces The Dark Pictures Anthology. That will be a series of horror games for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The studio is the creator of Until Dawn, a horror game that only came out on the PS4.

Bandai Namco is going to release the new horror games from Supermassive, the PC versions will come out on Steam. The different games each have their own story and the mutual stories are not connected with each other. Each game has its own characters. So far, one game has been announced: The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan. That title should be released sometime in 2019.

According to Supermassive, these are cinematic horror games. Man of Medan is about four young Americans who go on vacation and try to find a wreckage from World War II. That is disrupted by a storm and sinister events.

Players can take on the role of five different characters, each with their own perspective on the mystery. According to the developer, the games are made in such a way that they can be played multiple times, with multiple storylines and various outcomes. The choices players make influence the story.

Supermassive Games previously only made games for the PlayStation consoles. Horror game Until Dawn appeared in 2015 and a year later there was a PSVR variant: Until Dawn: Rush of Blood. This year, the studio released The Inpatient for PlayStation VR, a horror game set in the same universe as Until Dawn.
