In addition to expanding into other product markets, Turtle Beach plans to use the acquisition to gain a foothold in new markets. Roccat has a strong presence in European markets such as its home country of Germany and in Asia, where Turtle Beach has so far mainly focused on the US and to a lesser extent on Europe.
Turtle Beach expects to add $20 to $24 million in revenue this year through the acquisition. Next year, that amount should reach $30 million. Turtle Beach itself made $111.3 million in sales last year with a net profit of $24.6 million.
Roccat was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. Turtle Beach does not mention any changes for the company, making it appear that Roccat will remain in the market under the current brand name. It is not known whether there are any changes for the staff. Turtle Beach was founded in 1975 and is headquartered in San Diego, USA. Initially it focused on audio equipment but since 2005 on headsets for gamers.
