TikTok (finally!) Clarifies deleted content

TikTok has released a statement about the recent uproar that has arisen after the short video platform removed content from users.

They have in the TikTok’s Community Guidelines a few things described and clarified.

TikTok negative in the news

In recent weeks TikTok has been in the news negatively. Among other things, our own website we wrote that TikTokkers attacked large American companies with negative videos. They also received money for this from a mysterious online group. In addition, the US presidential election may be affected by videos on TikTok. Hope you can read that here !

One bright spot was that the ban on TikTok in Pakistan has been lifted.

Aim to avoid misunderstandings

TikTok’s statement states, among other things, that the company from China has experimented with a new notification system to give creators more clarity about the removal of content. “Our goals are to improve transparency and education around our Community Guidelines and to reduce misunderstandings about content on our platform. The results are promising, ”a spokesman said in the statement.

“By explaining our enforcement actions while reminding people of our policies, the number of repeated violations has been reduced and visits to our Community Guidelines have nearly tripled. The number of user requests to remove a video has decreased by 14 percent. We believe this helps to better understand the kind of positive content and behavior that drives our community. ”

Whether this will actually cause malicious users to have a problem remains to be seen. We will keep following it …
