The Lord of the Rings: Gollum from developer Daedalic Entertainment will be available May 25 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The Nintendo Switch version is still pending. The game was originally supposed to be released on September 1 last year after a previous delay.

The game is coming to current and previous generation consoles on May 25. The game will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The Nintendo Switch version is coming later this year. The game was supposed to be released on September 1 last year after a previous delay. Originally, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was announced in 2019 and was set to release in 2021. That was postponed to 2022. Last year the game was supposed to be released on September 1, after which it was postponed again ‘a few months’. The developer then gave the reason to want to provide the best possible experience that would honor the vision of JRR Tolkien. The release is now scheduled for May 25.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum tells the story of the creature of the same name from the fantasy books. The game is a stealth game in which players must guide Gollum through Mordor and other known areas of Middle-earth. Previous gameplay trailers have featured familiar characters such as Wizard Gandalf and Elven King Thranduil appearing in the game. The game does not follow the complete story from the Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion and Hobbit books, but also adds new locations and storylines.
