PS4 and PS5 versions of The Ascent have resurfaced on the site of an age rating authority. This time it is the American ESRB. Although this version of the game has not been announced, it does make the release of this version more likely.

The game is listed on esrb.org, including versions for the current and previous generation PlayStation. Gematsu discovered this† The game description also matches The Ascent and the named publisher, Curve Digital, is also the publisher of the existing versions of the game. The Windows version of the game is not mentioned here, but such pages often do not contain all information about a game.

The PlayStation versions of The Ascent were previously seen on the website of the ESRB’s Taiwanese counterpart. However, after publication by Gematsu, the information was no longer available on the Taiwanese website.

The game has not been officially announced for these platforms. The developers acknowledged the demand for a PlayStation version, but have said ‘not having anything to announce yet’. It is possible that an exclusivity period has been stipulated by Microsoft, in which information about a PS version may also potentially not be given.

The Ascent is a twin stick shooter with an isometric perspective. It takes place in a cyberpunk themed world. Players can work their way through the levels, which are littered with enemies, solo or in co-op. Various weapons, upgrades, and special powers allow characters to match the player’s style. The game is currently only available for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S.
