Streaming service Videoland has approximately 835,000 paying users

RTL’s streaming service Videoland has around 835,000 paying users. This can be deduced from the quarterly figures of parent company RTL Group. The number of paying users increased by 40 percent last year.

RTL itself does not report the exact customer numbers, but these can be calculated from the growth figures and the total of the number of paying users of the company’s paid streaming services. According to RTL, the number of paying users increased by 40.2 percent compared to the end of June last year. The year before, the growth was 58.2 percent.

According to RTL, the growth was due to the exclusive series that can be seen on the platform, such as reality program Temptation Island and crime series Mocro Maffia. The number of minutes watched on Videoland increased by 30.9 percent.

Videoland came this summer with other subscriptions. The basic subscription costs 4.99 euros per month and includes advertisements. In addition, the service is currently only usable on a limited set of devices and users can watch one device at a time. In addition, there are the ad-free subscriptions Plus and Premium, which differ in the maximum number of simultaneous streams: two and four.
