Star Wars: X-Wing and its successor TIE Fighter are re-released for PC. The games would be available for download at three o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, along with several other classic games.

The re-release of the classic games is the result of a partnership between GOG.com and Disney. Several links have surfaced on the download service’s forum confirming the re-release of the games, but those pages have since been taken offline. However, the homepage of the download service still shows a clock, which counts down to three o’clock local time on Tuesday afternoon. The classic games would be available for download from then on.

Based on the leaked links, Star Wars: X-Wing, successor TIE Fighter and the accompanying expansions are expected. The original game in the series was released in 1993 and its successor appeared a year later. It would go on to LucasArts games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Secret of Monkey Island, Sam & Max Hit The Road, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

In time, about thirty games would be reissued that would be free of DRM protection. Star Wars: X-Wing and TIE Fighter are expected to cost $9.99.

Update, 15.09: The games have appeared on GOG.com. Like Secret of Monkey Island, the Star Wars games are only playable on Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and Sam & Max Hit The Road also run on OS X and Linux.
