Japanese publisher Square Enix is likely working on a version of the action game Sleeping Dogs for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Web store Amazon has included Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition in its range.

Although Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition has not yet been officially announced by Square Enix, the product page on Amazon.com seems to leave little to be confused. The store shows potential consumers a picture of the new box art, and mentions that the game is available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A release date does not seem to be available yet; Amazon has the game on December 31, 2014, which is an illogical day for a game release. Square Enix has not yet responded to the product page appearing online.

It is certainly not the first time that the alleged existence of a new game has come out via Amazon. For example, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse already appeared on the website of the web store before the games were announced by the makers. This usually involved the French department of the company. Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition can be viewed in the US section of the store.

The action game Sleeping Dogs, set in Hong Kong, appeared in the summer of 2012 and was then released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. By its release, the game had already made quite a splash. The project started as a True Crime game in the stable of Activision, but that company saw no future in the game. Square Enix then picked up the project and gave it its final name.
