Spotify renews interface for desktop and browser versions

Audio streaming service Spotify has updated the interface of its browser and desktop versions. The interface now has three columns, the middle one being the home page as it has been in the app for a while. The other two columns are new on desktop.

The left column contains a user’s library, with quick viewing of recent and favorite playlists, among others. The column on the right contains more information about the artist, song or podcast, reports Spotify. The right column does not always seem to be visible.

The contact activity feed is now hidden behind an icon next to your own profile at the top right of the screen. That feed took a more prominent place in the previous interface, but Spotify now seems to attach less value to it. The new interface is immediately available in the browser and as an update for the desktop app.
