Sony brings Remote Play for PS4 games to Android this week week

Sony is bringing its Remote Play app to the Google Play Store. It allows users to stream PlayStation 4 games to their Android devices. Remote Play has been available for iOS, Windows and Mac for some time now.

Sony is introducing the Remote Play app for Android along with a new system update for the PS4. The app works on smartphones and tablets running Android 5.0 or higher. Remote Play has been available for iOS devices since March, while Windows and Mac users have been able to take advantage of the Remote Play feature since 2016.

Sony is also releasing an update for the iOS version of the Remote Play app. With this update, users can lock their screen orientation and choose to always display the on-screen controller. In addition, Sony is adding support for DualShock 4 controllers to the app. To do this, users must be running Android 10, iOS 13, iPadOS 13, or macOS Catalina. There is no mention of any support for Windows 10.

Sony will also release version 7.00 of the PS4 system software. This version adds an improved party function. The maximum number of party members has been increased from eight to sixteen users. The network speed and audio quality of the party function have also been improved. Users in the United States can also convert voice chats via the party function to text via Sony’s Second Screen app.

Sony unveiled version 7.00 of the PS4 software back in June. This software update and the Remote Play app for Android will be made available to all users this week. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
