Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced an official partnership with South Korean game maker and publisher NCSoft. The Guild Wars publisher was already mentioned in previous rumors as a possible company that would make a Horizon spin-off.

The companies say to enter into a strategic partnership and ‘evaluate global collaborations together in different markets’. The parties say little about the content of the collaboration, but do specifically mention the mobile market. This is not the first time that Sony and NCSoft have collaborated. According to Push Square the companies also announced a collaboration in 2007, but a few years later it turned out that all joint projects had been canceled, so wrote Engdadget at the time.

NCSoft was recently mentioned in unconfirmed rumors as a game studio that is said to be creating a Horizon spin-off codenamed ‘Project H’. Rumors about a Horizon mmmo have been going around for some time. The majority of NCSoft’s portfolio consists of these types of games. The company has already published more than thirty games, including the Guild Wars, Lineage and Blade & Soul games.
