Software Update: YUMI 2.0.8.3

Version 2.0.8.3 of YUMI has been released. YUMI stands for Your Universal Multiboot Installer and is a Windows program with which the installation ISOs of a large number of Linux distributions can be placed on a USB stick. In addition, there is support for Windows installation CDs, antivirus rescue CDs and other tools. This means that they no longer have to be burned to a CD or DVD first, but the installation can be performed from the self-starting USB stick. What sets YUMI apart is that several ISOs can be added, which end up as choices in a boot menu. Since version 2.0.7.5, the following changes and improvements have been made:

Version 2.0.8.3:

• Moved persistent file creation back to local drive when using NTFS format (You’ll need to make sure you have enough empty space to store the persistent file locally while it is being created).
• Created additional checkpoints for drive selection.

Version 2.0.8.2:

• Added checkpoint for Ubuntu partnew non-persistent menu entry.

Version 2.0.8.1:

• Added back support for casper persistence on NTFS.
• Updated Grub4Dos version. Now using Nullsoft Scriptable Install System compiler version 3.

Version 2.0.8.0:

• Added support back for older Ubuntu and Linux Mint casper-rw persistence.
• Limited max persistence file size creation for NTFS partitions to 20GB.

Version 2.0.7.9:

• Updated to use newer method for Rescatux.

Version 2.0.7.8:

• Fixed several links (still more to check). Updated to support newer Android-x86 and pmagic_2020_10_12.iso.

Version 2.0.7.7:

• Moved casper writable file creation to occur on USB. Implemented a fix to check for NTFS format before copying over ISO files larger than 4GB.
• Added Other OS entry for Sergei Strelec.

Version 2.0.7.6:

• Updated to support Ubuntu 20.10 Groovy Gorilla and Derivatives.
• Also changed System Rescue CD to System Rescue.
