Download Xmpeg 5.0a

Xmpeg has arrived at version 5.0a† This program comes from the well-known FlaskMPEG and can decode MPEG1 (audio and video) and MPEG2 formats and then encode them again with the encoder of your favorite format. The release notes let us know the following:

XMPEG will soon support deinterlace, and a few new filters. A plugin will support SBC encoding to improve the final quality of your AVIs. I’m working for a good implementation of Random Access (Multipass encoding). A reliable version of Xmpeg will be available sometime.

This version has a lot of improvement. please read :

• YUV support (YV12 and YUY2) for faster encoding
• New resizer from DVD2AVI, which improves performances.
• Help tool tips.
• Exceptions handled.
