Software update: Xfire 1.122

On Tuesday, version 1.122 of Xfire was released. This program ensures that game enthusiasts can chat with each other via text and speech, both indoors and outdoors. In addition, in a number of games it is possible to take screenshots and record videos. Furthermore, extensive statistics of the performance in various games are kept, you can see which games the people from your contact list are currently playing, and game patches and demos can be downloaded via the own p2p network. In version 1.122, among other things, the way in which the user is notified of new events has changed; a small window will now appear in the system tray. Furthermore, the necessary titles have been added to the ever-growing list of supported games. Below are the full release notes:

• Revamped notifications system to draw in a small window near your Windows tray:
  • Used for friend requests, new clan news, friend logon/logoff events, and system broadcasts
  • More notifications will be available in future releases
  • The notifications are skinned by Windows and hence will follow your Windows theme (such as Aero)
• Added support for setting custom status based on current songs for Winamp, Windows Media Player, and iTunes
• Smoothed out bandwidth usage by Live Video broadcasts.
