Software Update: WordPress 5.0.3

Version 5.0.3 of WordPress has been released. With this program, which is made available under a GPL, it is possible to set up and maintain a website or blog. WordPress is easy to set up and can be up and running within five minutes if a server with PHP and MySQL is already available. There are possibilities to further extend the functionality of WordPress with plugins and the look with themes to adjust.

Version 5.0 includes a completely redesigned editor and a new default theme. The old editor is also still present and is now called classic editor. The release notes for this release can be found below. Several security vulnerabilities have been fixed in this update.

WordPress 5.0.3 Maintenance Release
5.0.3 is a maintenance release that includes 37 bug fixes and 7 performance updates. The focus of this release was fine-tuning the new block editor, and fixing any major bugs or regressions. Here are a few of the highlights:

• 15 block editor related bug fixes and improvements have been added to bundled themes. Make sure to update these for an improved block editing experience.
• 2 block editor related internationalization (I18N) bugs have been fixed
• Users with JavaScript disabled now see a notice when attempting to use the block editor.
• a few PHP errors in the Customizer have been fixed.
• some issues uploading common file typeslike CSVs, have been fixed.
