Software Update: Wireshark 1.8.1

Version 1.8.1 of Wireshark has been released. Wireshark is an open source protocol analyzer and packet niffer, which can analyze various data packets and network protocols on the network. Also, the program can use previously saved data traffic as input. Wireshark runs on Windows XP and above, Linux, and Mac OS X, with separate downloads for 32bit and 64bit versions of the operating systems. The following vulnerabilities have been fixed:

• wnpa-sec-2012-11 – The PPP dissector could crash. †Debian bug 680056†
• wnpa-sec-2012-12 – The NFS dissector could use excessive amounts of CPU. †Bug 7436†
