Software update: WinMX 3.0 beta 10

ErHa writes: “A new beta of WinMX version 3.0 has been released.” This file sharing tool is working hard to be able to release a final quite soon. The release notes are mixed with the well-known Known Issues:

Known Issues

The current beta version has the following known issues which we are working to correct:

• all links to web site are currently under construction
  
• restoring maximized windows
  
• Hotlist needs to have “always on top”

Beta 10 corrects most issues that have been reported. However, because there are major sections of code in beta 10 that are brand new and haven’t been thoroughly tested, there could be new problems that come up.

Also, please be aware that we may be releasing new betas on an accelerated schedule this week as we prepare for a final release.

Note that multisourced downloads are only possible through the WinMX Peer Network, and not OpenNap servers. Also, the new version is not compatible with the current v2.6, and while beta testing, the new network is much smaller than upon full release.
