Software update: Webmin 1,850

Version 1,850 of Webmin was released a few days ago. With this program, a system running Unix can be maintained and managed from a web browser. For example, it is possible to maintain user accounts, to change settings for Apache, MySQL and dns, and to create file shares. Webmin consists of a simple web server, supplemented with various CGI programs written in Perl 5. The software is released under the BSD license and is available in various flavors from this page to download. Since version 1.831, the following changes and improvements have been made:

  • Fixed multi-hostname DNS registration and the display of error messages in Let’s Encrypt support.
  • Numerous Majordomo module improvements, thanks to gnadelwartz.
  • Added support for creating and editing port forwards in the FirewallD module.
  • Filesystems that have less than 1% free disk space are now shown on the System Information page.
  • Numerous bug fixes across multiple modules.

  • Fixes for XSS security vulnerabilities
  • Many updates to the Authentic theme.
  • SSHFP record support in the BIND module.
  • Thin provisioned LV support in the LVM module.
  • SNI (per-domain-name) SSL certificate support in Webmin itself.
  • DNS validation mode for Let’s Encrypt certificates.
  • Manual editor for Cron jobs.
  • More German, Norwegian and Catalan translation updates.
