Software Update: WebGUI 7.10.1 Beta

WebGUI is a content management system and application framework that allows a website to be managed and set up without the need for extensive technical knowledge. The package includes a photo album, a weblog, a forum, an RSS feed generator and a soap frontend. The developers have released version 7.10.1 beta in the development branch and have provided it with the following list of changes:

WebGUI 7.10.1 (beta) released

This beta release of WebGUI 7.10.1 contains fixes for 15 bugs, in Story Topic, RSS Feeds, Thingy, Product images, Calendar, Shortcut, URL dispatch, Templates, Gallery and the DataForm.

New features in this release include:

• A new Thingy template that allows Javascript visualization of data.
• The DataForm will no longer put Javascript or CSS script tags into the body of the document for loading external files.

Gotchas:

• WebGUI now depends on PerlIO::eol, for doing line ending translation.
• The UK Flash player has been removed due to licensing issues with Debian and the GPL. If you need this functionality, try using the Carousel Asset instead.
