Software update: Weather Watcher 5.6 beta 11

Spread the love

Weather Watcher hasn’t made it to the junk tracker in a while, but Mike Singer of Singer’s Creations is still working hard on version 5.6 and released beta 11 of it yesterday. This program is able to show the weather forecasts of multiple cities. For example, the temperature, humidity and air pressure are displayed. In addition, it is also possible to view various weather and satellite maps. The new version can be downloaded as full installation or if update if you already have a version installed. The changelog for this release looks like this:

The following changes have been made:

  • Added: “Use skinned tray tooltip window” option in “Tray Tooltip” options section to allow the skinned tooltip window to be disabled.
  • Changed: Decreased skinned tooltip window mouseover time to .4 seconds so it mimics the Windows tray tooltip mouseover time.
  • Changed: Made “X” clickable area a little larger in the “Classic” forecast skin.
  • Fixed: Misplacement of skinned tooltip window.
  • Fixed: Current condition tray icon was not updating with forecasts retrievals.
  • Fixed: Removed blank line from bottom of skinned tray tooltip window.
  • Fixed: “Set tray icon to Italic until first weather update” option was not working correctly on Weather Watcher startup.
  • Fixed: Clicking severe alert tray balloon generated a Runtime Error 5 at times.
  • Fixed: Retriever status window was not displaying transparent areas correctly on Windows 98.
  • Fixed: Clicking the tray tooltip balloon on tooltip events displayed a blank window at times.
  • Fixed: High/low recorded temperatures were not resetting at the start of a new day.
  • Removed: “General” –> “Keep all windows ontop” option in order to move towards a more standard Windows-like functionality.
