Software Update: Weather Watcher 5.6.5

Today a new version of Weather Watcher has come rolling out of the Singer’s Creations stable. This program lets you know from the system tray what the weather forecasts are for a large number of cities in the world. For example, the temperature, humidity and air pressure are displayed. In addition, it is also possible to view moon phases and various weather and satellite maps. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:

Added:

• Splendid forecast skin options window (see the new “O” image on the interface).
• “[ALERTS COUNT]” current data tag. See the “Reference Information” –> “Template Codes” section of the Weather Watcher Manual for more information.
• New maps to various sections of the maps menu.

changed:

• Splendid forecast skin’s red alert bar only shows the mouseover when the alert blurb doesn’t fit within the red bar.
• The text in the Splendid forecast skin’s red alert bar no longer wraps in order to keep the images from distorting.

Fixed:

• When a severe alert exists, the Splendid forecast skin will automatically resize so the images align correctly.
• Removed stray command button from “Sounds” tab of the Weather Watcher Options window.
• When the “Show Tray Balloon Tip When” dropdown was selected in the “Tray Tooltip” tab of the Weather Watcher Options window, the balloon tip contained weather data from the prior weather update.
• Night forecasts were not showing in the “Daily” section of the Splendid forecast skin at times.
• Splendid interface skins “Alerts” button did not change to a hand cursor when mousing over the button.
• Removed maps that had broken links.
• The Maps.ww file was not always being backed up properly after running Weather Watcher for the first time after a new version was installed.
