Software Update: VueScan 8.3.07

Hamrick Software is busy developing VueScan and has released version 8.3.07. This program can be used as a replacement for the twain driver that comes with the scanner for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows. VueScan does not need to be installed to do its job, so you can use it almost anywhere. The program can handle more than 400 scanners and 185 digital cameras. In addition, it has many advanced options on board, which improves the quality of the scan. The changes since the last entry in the muck tracker look like this:

Version 8.3.07:

  • Improved scan quality on Minolta Scan Dual IV
  • Improved scan quality on Canon LiDE 20/30 on Mac OS X and Linux
  • Fixed problem with banding in dark areas on Minolta Scan Dual III
  • Fixed problem with Canon D1250U
  • Fixed problem with Microtek ScanMaker i700 at low resolution
  • Fixed problem with Minolta scanners hanging when door open on startup
  • Added support for auto focus on Epson Expression 10000XL

  • Significantly improved infrared cleaning
  • Fixed problem with Microtek ScanMaker s400
