Download VLC Media Player 1.1.12

VideoLAN has released version 1.1.12 of VLC Media Player. This open source and cross platform media player can play various audio, video and streaming formats without the need to install the appropriate codec. VLC Media Player is available for Windows 2000 and above, Linux, Mac OS X, BSD and Solaris. Older versions are also available for Windows 9x, BeOS, Morphos, and Windows CE, among others. Version 1.1.12, among other things, fixes a security problem and improves sound quality on Mac OS X in combination with PulseAudio.

VideoLAN and the VLC development team present VLC 1.1.12, a bug and security fix release with improvements for audio output on Mac OS X and with PulseAudio.

This release was necessary due to a security issue in the HTTP and RTSP server components, though this does not affect standard usage of the player.
