Software Update: VisualRoute 9.2a

Spread the love

After we lost sight of VisualRoute in the junk tracker a while ago, we can now report a new update. The version number has arrived at 9.2a and now has a version for a support department. The program is originally a graphical counterpart of the ‘tracert’ command, with which you can view the way in which your data packets are sent over the network. Over time, more features have been added, such as a whois reporter and an eMailTracker to identify email servers. The release notes look like this:

VisualRoute 2005 (v9.2) enhancements:

  • NEW! Professional Support Edition includes a Multi-Use Reverse Trace Server license for more powerful connectivity reporting from remote customers or data centers. The ‘Helpdesk.exe’ agent can be downloaded to multiple systems, enabling you to select from a list of available remote systems to initiate a VisualRoute Report. Run a trace route from any remote system running the HelpDesk agent to any other Internet location and easily view the connectivity report at your desktop!
    • Easily troubleshoot remote customer connectivity problems
    • Get instant on-demand connectivity analysis from remote data centers
  • Includes ability to add city locations for IP addresses, so you can add your own locations for more complete location reporting

VisualRoute 2005 (v9.0) enhancements:

  • Significant improvements to the IP location database update process now enable live updates of IP location information — so you will automatically receive periodic location updates, resulting in continuous improved accuracy of geographic information
  • Improved user interface provides greater ease of use, more flexibility for display options
