Software update: Vienna 2.0.0.2018

Spread the love

The developers of the Vienna program for the Mac OS X platform have taken a different path with version 2.0. The support for the CIX conference system with which you could, among other things, read a conference off-line has disappeared. They have now focused on supporting all kinds of RSS and Atom feeds that can then be stored in a local SQLite database. Version 2.0.0.2018 is now available with the following changes:

Build 2.0.0.2018:

  • Improved handling of feeds with invalid XML encoding so most of these are now accepted.
  • Fix Growl integration to work in localized builds.
  • Fix handling of folder icons from sites like FeedBurner.
  • Finalized help file for 2.0 release.

Build 2.0.0.2017:

  • Fix article pane scroll bar clipping in localized versions.
  • Clear download list should not remove items being downloaded.
  • Fix handling of Javascript web pages.
  • Add four more built-in styles: Tyger, Vienna Pride, EasySimple and Felix.
  • Added Demo RSS feeds for new databases.
  • Fix parsing of atom xml:base links.
  • Added “current selection” Applescript method to return the current text selection.
  • Don’t undo when doing “Mark All Subscriptions as Read”.

Build 2.0.0.2016 (Release Candidate 1):

  • Added Traditional Chinese localization. (Thanks to Weizhong Yang).
  • Accept HTTP 200 responses with no data as meaning 0 new articles rather than an error.
  • Show count of unread on title bar. (Patch submitted by Jussi Hagman).
