Software Update: Veeam Reporter 4.0.1

Good documentation is very important for setting up and managing a VMware vSphere 4 or a VMware Infrastructure 3 environment. Veeam is therefore developing the Veeam Reporter program, which can automatically generate an overview of a vSphere 4 or a VI3 environment in a Microsoft Visio diagram, Excel workbook, Word document or an Adobe PDF. In addition, you can create links with cmdb’s and all information can be consulted via a web interface. Previously, a paid edition with more features was also available under the name Veeam Reporter Enterprise, but since 4.0 it has been renamed to Veeam Reporter. The limited edition was thus renamed to Veeam Reporter Free Edition. Version 4.0.1 has been available for some time and features the following changes:

New Features

The Following is a list of new features introduced in the Veam Reporter 4.0.1:

  • Support for VMware vSphere 4.1. Veeam Reporter 4.0.1 now supports VMware vCenter Server 4.1 and VMware ESX(i) 4.1.
  • Capacity planning report pack. New capacity planning report pack provides multiple new reports for resource utilization prediction, and what-if scenarios modeling.

Resolved Issues

The following is a list of issues resolved in the Veeam Reporter 4.0.1:

General:

  • Primary and secondary fault-tolerant VMs are now correctly distinguished in SSRS and offline reports.
  • Scalability improvements for very large deployments (hundreds of hosts).
  • A number of additional minor issues.

SSRS Reports:

  • If datastore is not available at the time of data collection, change management reports will show all files located on this datastore as deleted.

Reporting Jobs:

  • Reporting jobs email notification incorrectly shows “weekly” execution type for daily jobs.
