Version 2.0.2.0 of Universal USB Installer has been released. With this Windows program the installation ISOs of a large number of Linux distributions can be placed on a USB stick. This means they no longer need to be burned onto a CD or DVD first; the installation can be performed from the self-booting USB stick. Support is provided for a large number of distributions, from the best known to some of the very obscure. Part of the USB stick can also be used as persistent storage can be set up in which changes and personal files can be stored, which is normally not possible with a live CD. Since version 2.0.1.8, the following changes and improvements have been made:

Changes in version 2.0.2.0:

  • Updated to 1.0.96 bootloader.
  • Implemented conditional detection features to allow prepared drives to be displayed while running from WINE in Linux.

Changes in version 2.0.1.9:

  • Corrected an error in System::Call 'kernel32::GetDriveType(t”$preJustDrive”)is' for removable and fixed drive detection.
  • Added Vanilla dPup to the list of supported distros.
