Software Update: Universal USB Installer 2.0.0.2

Version 2.0.0.2 of Universal USB Installer has been released. With this Windows program, the installation iso’s of a large number of Linux distributions can be placed on a USB stick. As a result, they no longer have to be burned to a CD or DVD first; the installation can be performed from the self-starting USB stick. Support is available for a wide range of distributions, from the most famous to some very obscure. A part of the USB stick can also be used as persistent memory are used so that changes and personal files can be saved, which is normally not possible with a live CD. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Changes in version 2.0.0.2:

  • Fix broken Debian Live entry.
  • Remove Wipe option.
  • Switch to list only removable USB media.
  • Devices listed as local (fixed) disks won’t be detected.
  • General cleanup.
