Cerulean Studios has released the second public beta release of version 5.0 of the instant messaging program Trillian Astra. Trillian Astra allows chatting with users of a variety of instant messaging and social networks, including Windows Live, ICQ, Skype (text only), Twitter and Facebook. At the moment, Trillian Astra is available for Windows and iPhone, and there is a version that runs in a web browser. In addition, there are beta clients for Mac OS X, BlackBerry and now for android. Version 5 mainly improves social media capabilities. In addition, there is support for Foursquare and synchronization of data between the different clients is possible. In 5.0 build 23 beta, a large number of bugs have been squashed.

Be sure to update your existing copy of Trillian 5 with the latest and greatest to ensure you benefit from all of the new fixes. Trillian 5 will keep itself automatically updated. You can restart your copy to get the latest build. We are also pushing a small bugfix update to Trillian 4.2 which reduces the size of one of the assets we store on our servers.
